Hi, My name is Tracey and I'm very happy to meet you! A little about myself, I was born and raised on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, lulled to sleep every night by the ebb and flow of the waves. While I now reside in New Brunswick, Newfoundland is my birthplace and will forever be home. Rural Newfoundland was a remote, yet wonderful place to grow up. I spent the majority of my time setting up show jumping fences for my imaginary horse and teaching myself to draw. At the age of 18 I moved to the big city of St. John's and earned two diplomas in Graphic Design. Over the course of my career I have lived in three Atlantic provinces and had the privilege of travelling to Europe, the Caribbean and all across North America.
Over the years I've happily taken some art courses and focused in on watercolour and chalk pastels. The softness, flow and blendablity of these two mediums give my heart so much joy! I've recently been dipping my toes in the oil painting world as well, so stay tuned for future oil painting pieces. Resin, woodworking and jeweIlery making are also on my radar, I find it all inexhaustably exciting! Cake decorating, writing, cookie designs, horse cookies, if it's in any way creative... I'm in!
In 2015 my life took an unexpected turn with the dessolution of my marriage. Within a few years I had lost everything, my husband, home, job, cat, horse... I was adrift. It has taken substantial time and effort to rebuild my life. But I am slowly finding my footing once again. A new home, a new passion, new kitties and a new purpose. All of my paintings are reflective of me, my struggles, my dreams and hope for the future. Hope is everlasting, sometimes frustrating, but it never ceases.
If there is one thing I have learned over the last decade it's that everyone has a story. Everyone has a heartache, a trauma, a disaster that has befallen them. But if you can drift in the current of life and follow the flow, you can bloom in the new place you call home.
